Standard Ochre stores do not require any custom development and are highly customisable. However, if you require more flexibility or want greater creative control, then we can grant access to a number of developer tools.
API
The Ochre API provides programmatic access to your store allowing custom integrations, app and complete website builds.

The publicly available storefront development kit is a handy resource to get custom builds off to a quick start and support third-party development teams.

Ochre’s Storefront API is available for clients who wish to take on custom front end builds, or integrate retail data directly within a third party app.
Ochre’s standard stores are feature-rich and require zero development resources. However, for the right project a custom front end build allows for maximum creativity and flexibility.
!K7 operate multiple standard Ochre stores but when it came to their own K7 Records website it was important for their inhouse developers to have full creative control and develop something bespoke.
Therefore the team adopted a different approach for the website and embarked on a full custom front end build using the Ochre API.

Partisan Records have made use of javascript embeds to allow users to:
- Browse products
- Add to cart
- And edit carts without leaving the main Partisan website.
When a user clicks to checkout, they are taken across to the standalone Partisan Records Ochre store to complete their transaction or continue shopping.

In collaboration with Supernature a third-party agency developed a 360 experiential shopping experience for AJ Tracey’s website.
Using our developer toolkit, they were able to integrate products, display product info and add buy buttons within their own environment.
